Advanced Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Department

About the Role

Makes a clinical decision on the appropriate use of diagnostics and therapeutic interventions to determine the

differential diagnosis, interpreting the difference between normal and abnormal findings and acting on the results by

either further testing or referral as appropriate. As a licenced autonomous non-medical prescriber makes clinical

decisions on appropriate medication required for individual patients, including the restriction of medications that may

have contributed to the patients current condition as well as initiating treatments such as analgesics, antibiotics in

line with guidelines and pre-operative medications, also the prescribing of complex drug regimes.
