About the Role

The Assistant Technical Officer will support the Microbiology department by processing patient samples and maintaining laboratory equipment. This role requires a proactive individual eager to learn and contribute to a busy team.

Responsibilities

• Process patient samples according to SOPs.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment safely.
• Manage stock levels of reagents and supplies.
• Collect samples from various departments as needed.
• Ensure compliance with data protection policies.

Requirements

• GCSEs in Science, Maths, and English (grades A-C).
• NVQ level 3 in Pathology or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Physically fit for lifting and handling tasks.

Compensation

The salary for this position ranges from £24,937 to £26,598 per annum, pro rata for part-time roles.

Location & Schedule

This role is based at Milton Keynes University Hospital, with a standard schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
