Assistant Technical Officer

About the Role

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking two Assistant Technical Officers to support the Medical Engineering Department. Candidates should have experience in maintenance environments and hold at least an NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline. This role involves maintaining medical devices, conducting safety tests, and providing administrative support.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of the Medical Engineering Department.
• Maintain a library service for medical devices.
• Conduct electrical safety testing and routine calibration.
• Perform minor repairs on basic medical devices.
• Manage stock and assist in commissioning new devices.

Requirements

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in a maintenance environment.
• Familiarity with ISO:9001 and ISO:13485 quality systems.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work across multiple sites as needed.
