Band 2 Theatre Support Worker

About the Role

Actively supports the theatre team in ensuring correct instrument sets, supplies and equipment are available for the

surgical procedures. Demonstrate good understanding of the circulating roles and has the ability to support the scrub

team in preparing the operating theatre for the planned or emergency surgery. Once assessed competent, to conduct swab,

needle and instruments count with scrub practitioner in accordance to the department policy. Uses own initiative in

ensuring that the theatre environment is safe and all necessary equipment are functional before receiving the patient

for surgery. Demonstrate competence at using generic and specialist equipment/ machines pertinent to the speciality they
