About the Role
Determine and provide programmes of care and support for women and their babies under direct supervision of midwives
which: Are appropriate to the needs, contexts, culture and choices of the women, babies and their families. Are made in
partnership with the multidisciplinary team and women. Are ethical Are based on best evidence and clinical judgement.
Involve other practitioners when this will improve health outcomes. Care for and monitor women during the puerperium
offering the necessary evidence-based advice and support on baby and self-care. Antenatal Intrapartum Postnatal Provide
