Band 7- Sickle Cell Clinical Nurse Specialist, Haematology

About the Role

Clinical Provide timely and effective assessment and triaging of patients presenting with sickle cell crisis,supporting

and caring for patients whilst balancing their requirements with the Trust serviceprovision and resources. Provide

expert clinical advice, support and guidance for patients, carers and allied healthcareprofessionals involved in

providing care for patients with sickle cell disease. Offer timely and appropriate clinical decision-making and

interventions where appropriate andescalate as required. Work closely with haematologists, bed managers, ward managers

and nurses to initiate timelyadmission and discharge planning. Facilitate nurse led discharges. Act as a role model and
