Biomedical Support Worker Higher Level - Haematology

About the Role

The Biomedical Support Worker will assist in providing a specialist haematology laboratory service, focusing on stem cell processing and immunophenotyping.

Responsibilities

  • Process and test haemopoietic progenitor cell products.
  • Adhere to safety protocols in the liquid nitrogen storage area.
  • Support regional and national transplant services.
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations.

Requirements

  • 3 Highers at Grade C or above, including Chemistry or Biology.
  • SVQ3 in a relevant science subject.
  • Completion of a modern apprenticeship in life sciences.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to protocols.
  • Ability to work flexibly according to departmental needs.

Compensation

Location & Schedule

Position based at Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow. Working hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 09:00 to 17:00.
