Class Teacher with Responsibility for SEND (SENDCo)

About the Role

Heathfield Primary and Nursery School is seeking a dedicated Class Teacher with SENDCo responsibilities. This role involves leading inclusive education for pupils with diverse needs across two campuses. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high-quality teaching, collaboration, and a commitment to supporting all students to thrive.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEND provision and ensure effective identification and assessment.
• Monitor progress of pupils with SEND using whole-school data.
• Provide guidance and support to staff for inclusive teaching.
• Build partnerships with families and external agencies.
• Promote early identification and intervention strategies.

Requirements

• Achieved National SENDCo Award or willing to undertake SEND NPQ.
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
• Experience in leading support for diverse educational needs.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

Location & Schedule

Position based in Basford and Bulwell, with a 0.3 FTE teaching commitment.
