Clinical Fellow Cardiac Surgery
About the Role
The appointee will spend a significant amount of their time in theatre developing surgical skills. The remainder of
their time will involve patients management on the Cardiac Critical care unit and the fellows are responsible for
everyday care of the patient including daily ward rounds in CICU and the ward. They are expected to attend weekly
teaching sessions, cardiology/cardiac surgery MDT and echocardiography meetings. An appointee will have opportunities to
attend outpatient clinics, taking part in the pre-operative assessment clinics and also in post-operative clinics. The
post-holder will participate in the cardiac surgery SpR on-call rota (1:6). This is an on-call non-resident system. The
