Clinical Fellow in Cardiac Surgery

About the Role

To take history, examine and record all findings of all patients admitted under the consultants care. Carry out and

arrange all relevant investigations. To see and examine all patients under the care of the consultant concerned,

including those in the Intensive Care Unit. To assist when required in the operating theatre. To attend and assist in

out-patient clinics if appropriate. To arrange for the transfer of patients to other hospitals or discharge home,

including a discharge summary which the patient must take with them. During duty weekends and evenings, to be

responsible for the care of all cardiothoracic patients on the wards. To perform minor surgical procedures such as chest
