Clinical Nurse Specialist, Acute Oncology and Teenage / Young Adults
About the Role
As part of the AO team, the post holder will provide advice to patients receiving non-surgical cancer treatment, make an
assessment of the patient over the telephone and put into place a plan of care/follow up or advice for the patient. The
AO Team are also the Key worker for Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) patients undergoing investigations for a malignancy
of unidentified origin. As part of the AO team, the post holder will support 2 MDTS: MSCC weekly and CUP. The post
holder will attend and assist the MDT coordinator to ensure correct outcomes are recorded & actioned. Provide nurse-led
assessments throughout the hospital including the acute oncology assessment bay and other inpatient and outpatient areas
