About the Role
The ward is configured to provide inpatient, day case and clinic facilities in one place meaning that our
immunocompromised patients do not share waiting or day case space with other patients. Office space for medical staff
and specialist nurses is integral to the ward, and these senior staff is therefore on hand when needed. Staff on the
ward work together in a dynamic and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team. The majority of our inpatients are being
treated for haematological malignancies or the complications of treatment, but the nursing staff also has expertise in
management of other complex patient groups, including bleeding disorder patients and patients with sickle cell anemia.
