Consultant in Paediatric Critical Care Transport

About the Role

Assume clinical accountability for the transport service during duty hours. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment,

operational policies, and staffing levels/competencies. Coordinate and facilitate urgent conference calls for patients

requiring high-priority transfer. Provide initial clinical advice and organise discussions between the referring

clinician, the designated accepting consultant, and other specialists as needed. Triage incoming calls to determine the

appropriate transport team composition. Offer clinical guidance to the transport team regarding patient management

during transfers. Personally undertake transfers, particularly when patient acuity requires consultant-level care.
