Consultant Physician Acute and General Medicine

About the Role

University Hospital Monklands (UHM) is looking for a Consultant Physician in Acute & General Medicine to join its

existing team, currently made up of four Acute Physicians, General Physicians with sub-specialty interests, and the

wider multi-disciplinary team. The department has redesigned its Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) processes, enabling it to

take forward a number of exciting new 'front door' developments including the establishment of an Ambulatory Emergency

Care (AEC) unit. The Acute Physicians are well supported by Physician of the Day and dedicated Physician of the Week

models, alongside Specialist Nurses in MAU. Excellent support is also provided by nursing and medical colleagues in the
