About the Role

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES To ensure a safe environment is maintained for patient/staff in accordance with the Health

and Safety Policy and clinical governance agenda. Undertake the role of lead midwife for the Maternity Service in the

absence of the Clinical Midwifery Manager which will include being the bleep holder for the Division out of hours.

Actively manage change, in accordance with the Divisional/Trusts objectives. To be aware of the budgetary implications

of changes in clinical practice. Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff for the maternity service.

Monitor and manage clinical workload to ensure the effective deployment of manpower. Monitor staff performance ensuring
