JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Staff Nurse / Midwife for Post‑Birth Contraception plays a key role in delivering high‑quality contraception

care and supporting maternity staff through expert clinical guidance.

The purpose of the role is to work collaboratively with maternity teams to ensure timely post‑pregnancy contraception

prior to discharge from inpatient settings. This includes providing antenatal contraception counselling and facilitating

postnatal access to each patient’s chosen method, including LARC options (implants, injectables, POP, condoms), and
