About the Role

Reeson Education is looking for a compassionate and resilient Deputy Manager for a new 2-bed residential children's home in Crewe. This role involves supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) while ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and lead a dedicated team of support workers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure each young person has an allocated key worker.
  • Maintain staff awareness of children's plans and responsibilities.
  • Provide out-of-hours support as the "on-call manager."
  • Attend childcare reviews and planning meetings.
  • Undertake direct work with young people as a role model.
  • Develop systems for young people to provide care feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Work with parents and professionals to safeguard young people.

Requirements

  • Secondary education with good literacy and numeracy.
  • Diploma L3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to complete Diploma L5 L&M in H&SC.
  • Knowledge of CHR 2015 and the QS.
  • Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues.
  • Knowledge of the Children Act and relevant legislation.
  • Team-building and supervision skills.
