Deputy Ward Manager UHL surgery

About the Role

To provide leadership, support and guidance to staff in monitoring the planning delivery and evaluation of

individualised care. Responsible for monitoring the workload/patient acuity within the ward/unit on a daily basis to

ensure that nursing manpower is adequate to provide a safe standard of nursing care. Liaise with other wards within the

Directorate regarding staffing issues, offering support if necessary. Support division by covering the surgical bleep as

flow lead Exercise leadership to motivate members of staff, achieve high morale and promote effective communication

within the ward. Investigate all incidents and complaints as delegated by the Ward Manager or Matron. Act up or deputise
