Diabetes Specialist Midwife
About the Role
The post holder will act as an autonomous practitioner within the maternity team, providing continuity of care where
possible and supporting the development of diabetes pathways. Responsibilities include: clinical governance activities
such as implementing research-based protocols, monitoring quality standards, and participating in local and national
audits. managerial duties, including supervising maternity support workers, assisting with staff appraisals, and
maintaining diabetes-related equipment and supplies. Leadership is integral to this position, requiring the ability to
motivate staff, act as a role model, and contribute to service evaluation and improvement. The Diabetes Specialist
