Family Support Worker
About the Role
As a Family Support Worker, you’ll work directly with families and young people to assess needs, provide practical support, and help them build sustainable solutions. You’ll be part of a multi-agency team, delivering early help to prevent issues from escalating and reduce demand on statutory services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct early help assessments and create tailored support plans
- Deliver direct work on emotional wellbeing and relationships
- Promote healthy lifestyles in schools and colleges
- Facilitate group activities for young people
- Act as lead professional coordinating multi-agency support
- Represent the service at community events
Requirements
- Qualified to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent
- Experience working with children and families
- Skilled in safeguarding and child development
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- Flexible and proactive in multi-agency environments
