About the Role

Accountable to the Chief Nurse, the Group Director of Midwifery will be responsible for leading the midwifery profession

and overseeing measures to safeguard the quality of care in maternity services.

The post will play a vital role in developing and implementing the vision for maternity services within the Royal Free

London. They will provide clinical, professional and strategic leadership across the Trust and to the local maternity

system and regional transformation programmes ensuring all standards are met. The Group Director of Midwifery is a

pivotal member of the Chief Nurse’s senior leadership team, reporting to Board on the quality of maternity services as
