About the Role

M1 is a 30-bed medically optimised older adult ward that also supports up to 10 escalation beds during periods of

increased demand. The ward provides care for patients who are clinically stable but require ongoing nursing support,

monitoring, and discharge planning. M1 is not a rehabilitation ward; however, preventing de-conditioning and maintaining

independence are key priorities within the patient’s agreed care plan.

The ward predominantly supports frail older adults with complex needs, including cognitive impairment, reduced mobility,

and long-term conditions. When required, M1 also supports a small number of dermatology patients (typically 1–2) to
