About the Role

The Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) is part of the multidisciplinary team and plays a vital role within the team,

providing holistic, patient- centred care which is planned and directed by health care professionals. Under the guidance

and supervision of a registered nurse (RN), midwife or nurse associate (RNA) the HCSW will undertake a range of core

clinical skills and depending on the area worked may include specific clinical skills relevant to the speciality. The

post holder is expected to cover the duties of other HCSW colleagues within the range of the post holder’s knowledge and

skills.
