About the Role
Health Improvement Officer (Stop Smoking Service) The post holder, part of the Public Health Team, will contribute to
the achievement of broad public health outcomes, detailed in the Southend 2050 ambition and the Governments ambition of
Delivering a Smokefree 2030. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of the local plans
pertinent to their agreed portfolio, under the leadership of a senior public health officer and the Director of Public
Health. The post holder will support the Public Health Stop Smoking Service to: Reduce smoking prevalence amongst adult
residents and young people Reduce the inequality gap in smoking prevalence between those in routine and manual
