About the Role

The Ward Housekeeper plays a vital role in supporting a safe, clean, and well‑organised surgical ward environment. The

post‑holder works closely with the nursing and multidisciplinary team to ensure patient areas, equipment, and clinical

spaces are maintained to high standards, in line with Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) policy and Trust procedures.

This is a patient‑facing role that directly contributes to the experience and wellbeing of patients by assisting with

non‑clinical tasks, supporting timely bed readiness, and ensuring the ward environment is welcoming and well maintained.
