About the Role
This role involves providing essential support to pupils facing emotional or behavioral challenges, helping them regulate their emotions and re-engage with learning.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to calls for support across the school.
- Assess situations and ensure pupil and staff safety.
- Use de-escalation techniques to stabilize emotions.
- Escort pupils to designated regulation areas as needed.
- Support pupils' return to class after periods of regulation.
- Liaise with teachers to share strategies for individual pupils.
- Guide children in recognizing emotions and triggers.
- Model emotional stability and respect in behavior.
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with social and emotional needs.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent communication skills with children and adults.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Empathy and passion for helping children succeed.
- Confident in building relationships with staff.
- Flexible approach to supporting individual needs.

Compensation
Salary is £24,796 per annum FTE, with an actual annual salary of £17,243 plus benefits.
Location & Schedule
Located in Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire. Part-time, 30 hours per week, term time only.
