About the Role

· To work collaboratively as an integral part of the midwifery team.

· To assist and support the midwife in the care of the mother and baby throughout the pregnancy and postnatal period.

· To support and promote breastfeeding; this will focus on the needs of individuals and the community, respecting

diversity and equality.This will include health promotion and the prevention of ill health.

· To deliver high standards of physical, psychological and social aspects of careunder the supervision of, and being

accountable to, a registered midwife.
