About the Role
JOB DESCRIPTION
The PSNI have a statutory responsibility for individuals detained within their custody and the care and treatment of
those individuals is set out in the Police and Criminal Evidence Order (PACE) 1989. The custody service within Northern
Ireland currently has on average 25,000 detentions per year spread across 9 custody suites. Detainees often have wide
and complex health needs and often are some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. Custody officers are
required to carry out an individual risk assessment on every detainee and develop a person-centered care plan
