About the Role
Orthopaedic department is based in two hospitals, Hull Royal Infirmary where acute services are based and Castle Hill
Hospital. Hull University teaching hospitals and Orthopaedic department has 26 consultants and is major trauma centre.
Hull is a tertiary referral centre for trauma and specialist services including limb reconstruction and bone infections.
Limb Reconstruction (LR) and bone infection unit has 3 consultants, 2 clinical fellows, 2 research fellows, 1 academic
lecturer and 1 specialist nurse and physiotherapist. Bone infection unit consist of 2 orthopaedic surgeons, 3 plastic
surgeons, 1 radiologist and Infectious diseases consultant. LR and Bone infection unit is a referral centre for entire
