Locum Consultant - ED
About the Role
Clinical Delivery of good quality evidence-based care to patients in the Emergency Department. The consultant must be
available to support and help junior staff in the daily handling of clinical as well as non-clinical problems presenting
to the department. Structured clinical shifts for all areas of the shop floor within the Departments are a key part of
the consultant job plan. Clinical supervision of junior doctors within shop floor sessions, including review of patients
and direct management of difficult cases, or sick children. Teaching of junior staff, formal and informal, including EM
trainees, and nursing staff when appropriate, including scenario based teaching. Managing National targets (e.g. the 4
