About the Role
General The appointment is covered by the terms and conditions of service for Hospital Medical and Dental Staff under
the 2003 new consultant contract and the code of conduct for private practice. The job description is a reflection of
current service needs and may be reviewed and amended, in consultation with the post holder, in the light of future
changes or development. The consultant appointed will have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in
his/her charge and for the proper functioning of his/her department. He/she will undertake the administrative duties
associated with the care of his/her patients and the running of his/her clinical department. The consultant will be
