About the Role

Scunthorpe General Hospital provides a busy service giving wide experience in acute general paediatrics, surgery, ENT,

dermatology, orthopaedic and dental children.

With very few exceptions, all children under 16 years requiring hospitalisation are admitted on the Children’s Unit.

This consists of 18 in-patient beds used between surgery and medicine. There is a 4-bedded paediatric assessment and

observation unit co-located on the children’s ward. A separate area on the Unit is used for adolescents and a further

separate area for day cases and assessment. Two additional Paediatric High Dependency beds are situated on the ward. We
