About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate Locum Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to join our team in Slough, Berkshire. This ongoing role offers a structured Monday to Friday schedule with no weekend work, allowing you to assist in providing high-quality care to animals and ensure smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with handling and restraint of animals.
• Provide care to hospitalized animals, including feeding and monitoring.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment.
• Prepare clinical areas for consultations and surgeries.
• Assist in client communication and basic pet care advice.
• Support reception duties as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Care Assistant or in animal care.
• Strong animal handling skills with a compassionate demeanor.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy practice.
• A passion for animal care and welfare.
