About the Role

To work as a member of the maternity team, under the direction and supervision of the midwife. The maternity care

assistant is accountable to the midwife and will be supervised by the midwife either directly or indirectly whilst on

duty.

• Promote a friendly, caring environment and actively work within the multidisciplinary team.

• Promote the philosophy of respect, for varied cultural, physical and spiritual needs of mothers.

• Act as a role model for practice, respecting both the privacy and dignity of mothers and their families
