About the Role

The Ophthalmic Technician at Moorfields Eye Hospital will provide essential clinical support in the injection clinic, assisting with intravitreal injections and ensuring high-quality patient care. This role involves collaboration with a multi-professional team, maintaining equipment, and participating in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge in ophthalmic practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering intravitreal injections using aseptic techniques.
• Support qualified nursing staff in patient assessments and care delivery.
• Maintain and ensure the safety of clinical equipment.
• Participate in the education of junior technicians.
• Compile and maintain a personal professional portfolio.

Requirements

• Experience in clinical ophthalmic practice.
• Competent in patient observations and ophthalmic measurements.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-professional team.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
