About the Role

Responsibility for patient care Assess the needs of patients and their families, diagnosed with eye disease. Undertake

full assessment, implementation and evaluation of patient, and families/carers, to provide specific expert nursing care;

advice, support and counselling from diagnosis. Low Vision Service which includes the assessment, prescription and

training in low vision aids to help partially sighted adults and children. This also involves writing reports and

liaison with the teachers of the visually impaired and the social services team for the visually impaired. To formulate

individualised management and treatment programs using clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice and a wide range of
