Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse
About the Role
To build professional caring relationships with children, young people with diabetes and their families and carers and
be able to communicate effectively and empathetically with children and young people with diabetes and their families
always taking into consideration their chronological and developmental age and cognitive ability. To support, mentor and
supervise student and ward nurses, medical students and members of the multi-disciplinary team as appropriate. To
support and enable children and families/carers to make informed decisions relating to their treatment and management.
Utilise all local and national information and ICT systems to secure accurate and timely resource data. Accountable for
