Paediatric Haematology Healthcare Assistant

About the Role

Participate in admission of patients as appropriate and prepare patients for discharge Provide comfort and distraction

including play and entertainment to children and young people. Assist in routine clerical duties of day unit team, such

as receiving calls/messages and relaying these in a timely and appropriate manner retrieving/filing patients notes and

X-rays, collection of mail and use of the Electronic Patients Record (EPR) or Care Record Service(CRS). Maintain upkeep

of the patients bed area, ensuring that the patients space is respected. Replace oxygen and suction as required. Take

blood or other samples/swabs to the laboratory. Receive and check deliveries to the unit. Report on stock levels and
