About the Role
Key Responsibilities Welcome patients warmly, ensuring they feel comfortable, relaxed and informed before blood
collection. Verify patient identity accurately and check details against the clinicians request form. Obtain venous
blood samples safely and professionally, following practice protocols and infection control standards. Label all samples
clearly, legibly and accurately to ensure correct patient identification. Use the correct sample containers and follow
appropriate storage and handling procedures. Record details of each blood sample in the patients electronic record in
line with practice processes. Prepare, package and dispatch samples to the appropriate laboratory in a timely manner.
