Phlebotomist / HCA

About the Role

Obtain informed consent from patients prior to procedures Carry out venepuncture in line with practice policies and

clinical protocols Monitor and record blood pressure and other routine observations Support clinics for patients with

long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma and hypertension Record all activity accurately on the clinical system and

prepare specimens for transport Label, package and store samples correctly and safely Maintain and use the specimen log,

resolving any discrepancies promptly Ensure samples are dispatched to the laboratory in a timely manner Liaise

effectively with NHS Trust laboratory staff when required Work closely with the nursing team and seek advice for
