About the Role

The Trust have implemented a digital pre-assessment system to support standardisation of clinical assessments across

sites, improve the service quality and efficiency. Preoperative Assessment is a nurse-led assessment service that is

integral to supporting elective surgery – focusing on the identification of patients that are fit to proceed to surgery

and supporting to optimise patients. The team are currently appointing a Band 5 Registered Nurse.The job role is to

pre-assess patients planned to undergo a surgical procedure in line with the Trust’s guidelines, policies and

procedures. To request investigations and tests, and interpret results, escalating as appropriate, and to support
