Prescription Clerk (Primary Care)
About the Role
Key responsibilities and tasks To support the PCN Prescription Hub Full training will be provided for this role and
previous experience as a Prescriptions Clerk is not essential. Process repeat prescriptions on a daily basis ensuring
compliance with the prescription hub protocols. Perform regular searches on drugs requiring monitoring hence minimising
the risk of adverse effects. Ensure all current medication have relevant, current authorisations. Promote cost-effective
prescribing at the practice through switching drugs to the generic preparation when appropriate and encouraging the use
of local primary care trust formulary medication choices. Deal with prescription queries from a range of healthcare
