About the Role
Referrals, day unit and Laboratory Duty: Carry the Referrals Bleep Ensure referrals are seen promptly, discussed with
the consultant, and shared between you and the relevant consultants if you get too busy. Ensure the online referrals
system is checked at least twice daily or delegated to a colleague. If needed, see the outlying medical patients with
haematological issues who are not eligible to come under primary haematology care. Support the nursing staff at the day
unit with medical reviews of patients and chemotherapy prescribing, if required Report blood films*. Supervised by the
consultants, to ensure that all blood films are reported within 72 hours (unless flagged as urgent by laboratory, in
