School Caretaker

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join our vibrant team at Downsview Primary and Nursery School in Croydon. This role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for staff and students, ensuring health and safety standards, and overseeing cleaning staff. Responsibilities

• Assist with daily maintenance tasks and general cleaning.
• Uphold health and safety standards across the school.
• Ensure premises security by locking doors and conducting sweeps.
• Set up and clear rooms for events and activities.
• Oversee in-house cleaners and manage cleaning rotas.
• Deputise for the Site Manager as needed.
• Undertake fire warden responsibilities during drills.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Basic maintenance skills and experience.
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Good physical fitness and stamina for the role.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training.

Compensation

Salary range is £33,012 - £33,987, depending on experience and qualifications.

Location & Schedule

Located in Croydon, the role requires 36 hours per week, from 10:30 to 18:30, all year round.
