About the Role
CER Education is seeking a dedicated School Support Worker in Newcastle upon Tyne to assist students with special educational needs. This role involves providing tailored support, fostering an inclusive environment, and helping students develop essential life skills. Responsibilities
- Provide individualised support to students aged 2 to 19 years.
- Collaborate with teachers to deliver tailored interventions.
- Encourage student engagement and confidence.
- Assist with Individual Education Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
- Support academic and social development.
- Provide pastoral care and emotional support.
- Help manage classroom behaviour.
- Support school trips and life skills lessons.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 months’ relevant experience in a support role.
- Graduates in Psychology, Nursing, or Sports Coaching are welcome.
- Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning is encouraged.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a positive learning environment.

Compensation
Hourly wage ranges from £13.68 to £16.21, depending on experience and qualifications.
Location & Schedule
Position based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 16:30, term time only.
