Senior Fellow in Medical Retina (Ophthalmology)
About the Role
The Ophthalmology Department at University Hospital Birmingham is based across four sites, Good Hope, Solihull,
Heartlands and Queen Elizabeth hospitals. It provides Ophthalmology outpatient facilities and day case surgery. There
are 35 consultants who provide an outpatient and surgical service. The entire range of Ophthalmology sub-speciality
clinics are provided and there is close communication with consultants in other specialities. As well as consultant
ophthalmologists the eye service is supported by staff and specialist doctors, Specialty Registrars, an Orthoptic
Department, Optometrists and imaging technicians, clinical nurse specialists as well as nurses. Pre-operative
