Software Engineer (UAS)
About the Role
Diamond Light Source is seeking a Software Developer for its Scientific Information Management Systems (SIMS) group. This role focuses on redeveloping the User Administration System (UAS), which is crucial for managing applications from international scientific users. You will design and develop micro-services and enhance software integrations to support operational requirements and improve user experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new micro-services and websites.
- Provide input to scientific software architecture.
- Develop software integrations with third-party systems.
- Support the User Office with fault diagnosis and resolution.
- Enhance core software for robustness and adaptability.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks.
- Portfolio demonstrating web applications and dashboards.
- Understanding of software engineering methods and systems.
- Familiarity with SCRUM and agile processes.
