About the Role

General Surgery in East Kent Hospitals is at an exciting period of innovation and development. At William Harvey

Hospital we have a highly specialised and equipped colorectal department offering cancer resections, benign pathology

treatment including IBD and endoscopy. The Upper GI team offers laparoscopic cholecystectomy including bile duct

exploration, anti-reflux surgery, achalasia treatment and splenectomy. The team consists of 8 Colorectal consultants and

3 Upper GI Consultants. There are 12 registrars, 9 SHOs and 6 F1 Doctors. The department is looking to expand the

services offered in line with current innovation and technological advances.
