About the Role

The Sterile Services department (SSD) provides essential services of reprocessing surgical instruments and Endoscopy for

use in wards and departments within the trust and outside practices.

As an SSD Technician you will have the opportunity to work within a friendly and skilled team, providing essential

support to clinical service providers. You will be involved in the decontamination, inspecting, assembling, packaging,

sterilising and distributing of surgical instrumentation for supply to Wards, Departments, Theatres and Endoscopy.

The role is physically demanding, pushing, pulling, lifting and handling heavy instrument sets and long periods of
