Ward Clerk & Discharge Liaison (Band 3)
About the Role
Generic Ward Clerk Duties Welcome patients and visitors onto the ward, informing the Sister or Nurse in Charge of any
queries. Ensure efficient administration for patient admissions, including checking, printing, and recording information
on EMIS (patient record system) and in the admissions book, and preparing necessary paperwork packs. Carry out all
administration associated with patient discharges, including updating records and ensuring correspondence is sent to GPs
and Nursing Homes as appropriate. Handle administration following the death of a patient, including contact with GPs and
Funeral Directors, updating records, and completing all paperwork. Take telephone calls for the unit and advice line,
